Tyres.co.uk backs Cardiff Racing ahead of the new Formula Student season
CR22

Formula Student is one of Europe's leading engineering competitions, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Teams design, build and race a single-seat car, and are judged on everything from the car's performance on track to its engineering design, cost and business case.
Cardiff Racing is made up of students from across the School of Engineering and beyond. Over the coming months, the team will be finishing the design of this year's car, manufacturing parts in the University's workshops and testing ahead of the competition. Along the way, students gain hands-on experience in design, teamwork and project management that will help them in their future careers.
Why tyres matter?
Tyres are the only part of a car that touches the road, and on a Formula Student car they play a huge part in grip, braking and cornering. The right set of tyres can make a real difference to lap times, and to how safely the car performs in both wet and dry conditions. With competition tyres being one of the team's biggest yearly costs, support from Tyres.co.uk will allow students to focus more of their budget on developing the car itself.
